OBJECTIVES:

Linoprinting is a form of relief printmaking which evolves from creating a relief image on a block of linoleum by cutting away the parts that are not to hold ink. Your design is transferred onto the block and then all other parts are cut away with pointed tools called V-tools of different sizes. This method of printmaking is easy to learn and can be developed in complexity to suit all levels, resulting in bold, monotone or coloured prints, as well as smaller sizes suitable for stamp making.

After completing designing and cutting the lino blocks, students will print their designs. The success of printmaking depends not only on a good design but also on the colours, inks, and papers used.  Here we will experiment with various combinations, while having fun printing your linoprints.
