Mohammad Al Maamari,
started his artistic journey with a lead pencil and soon became a master in drawing light and shadows. Gradually, he developed an interest in surrealism and calligraphy. In his current paintings, by employing a variety of media and techniques, Mohammed is depicting his search for harmony and rhythm in his art.
Mohammed takes his inspiration from the culture and values of the people of Oman. Moments and expressions of life in Oman caught in an instant are the motives that take centre stage of Mohammed’s canvases. His works are an interplay of informal, almost violently textured strokes as background and carefully selected carved out scenes, realistically painted and suspended on canvas, only connected to its background by controlled drops of paint.
He has exhibited not only in Oman, but France, Kuwait, Egypt, the UAE, and Italy.
